Terra Patris Group’s first corporate responsibility report has been published. Our responsibility work is built around three important responsibility themes: a healthy and safe work community, responsible and growing business, and environmentally conscious solutions. For each theme, we have defined a responsibility target for 2030, towards which we are working through the shorter-term responsibility targets for 2022-2024.
“Sustainability work is a journey where we have now taken our first joint steps as a group. We have brought together the responsibility work done by our companies and created a common roadmap that guides us to build our operations in a more responsible direction. Next, we will start a Group-wide carbon footprint calculation so that we can better catch up on how we can improve the environmental impact of our operations,” says Riikka Löfroos, who has been the project manager for the responsibility program.
We want to carry our responsibility in the fight against the climate crisis, ensure the well-being of our employees and create value for Finnish society.
“We will pay more attention to our Group’s human resources management work and supply chain responsibility. The responsibility perspective will be considered even more strongly in supply chains and product development, continuing with production and logistics. We are also committed to supporting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in our own operations,” says Turkka Hirvonen, the CEO of Terra Patris.
Sustainability work has been done in our companies for years, where the emphasis has been slightly different in each company. These include for example Metalpower’s occupational safety system and Movax’s measures to improve occupational safety.
“At Metalpower, systematic occupational health and safety has been part of our operations for many years. We have safety alerts in place to record and report incidents. In this way, potential danger areas are constantly identified, and possible accidents are prevented. Thus, the model of continuous improvement is also used in terms of work safety in addition to our normal occupational safety activities,” says Sami Siurua, the CEO of Metalpower.
