From 2023, the obligation to establish a notification channel has been extended to companies employing at least 50 people. Companies must provide personnel and external stakeholders with a channel through which they can anonymously report company violations regarding, for example, financial misconducts, such as fraud, corruption, money laundering, violations of competition regulations, inappropriate activities, such as sexual harassment, product safety, occupational safety, environmental protection, and protection of privacy and personal data.
In every situation, we strive to act responsibly, in accordance with the law and with our company’s code of conduct. If there are any issues in our operations, we want to be informed about them. In the future, our company will use a confidential notification channel, whistleblowing channel, through which our personnel and stakeholders can safely report any misconducts they have observed. The notification can be made at
We recommend that you discuss the misconducts primarily with a supervisor or the person responsible for the matter in our company. If you don’t want to bring the matter to these people, you can use the notification channel. If you wish, you can make the report completely anonymously through the whistleblowing channel and have an anonymous conversation with the person handling the report.
How will my report be handled?
Only authorized personnel handling the reports will have access to the information, and we will not disclose your identity to third parties without your consent. The CEO of Terra Patris Group, Turkka Hirvonen, and HR Development Manager, Kristiina Prihti-Laaksonen, will see and process the reports. Other experts may also be used in the investigation to ensure appropriate handling.
Authorized personnel in our company can request further information from you through the notification channel regarding your notification processing. They will also respond through the channel within three months, indicating the actions we may take based on your notification. Therefore, please take note of the code you receive after submitting your notification, so that you can later log in and communicate with the notification processors.
Sensitive personal data should not be included in the notification unless it is necessary for the description of the notification and its processing.
Whistleblower protection
The notifier has the right to protection if he has a justified reason to believe that the information in the notification is correct at the time of notification and the information to be notified falls within the scope of the law. The range of protected informants is wide and it applies to e.g. current and former employees, subcontractors and anonymous whistleblowers if they are identified in the notification. Retaliation against the reporting party for making a report is prohibited by law.
Data security and anonymity
The provider of our notification channel is responsible for service maintenance, development and data security. The notification channel has an external, continuous audit. Neither our company nor its representatives have access to any information other than the anonymous messages sent to us. Notifications do not leave any metadata or IP address. All information related to the sender is encrypted, unless the sender explicitly wants to leave their contact information in the message or attach information to the notification (for example, attachment) with metadata. The service’s information security and data protection solutions play a central role from the point of view of compliance with the law and ensuring the anonymity of those who report.
The information security solutions of the information channel are regularly audited in cooperation with the cyber attack company Silverskin information security Oy, which specializes in cyber security management. The service’s data centers have information security certificates ISO22301 and ISO27001.
Group’s Code of Conduct
In addition to the whistleblowing channel, we have published Code of Conduct for the Terra Patris group. It is our organization’s unified reference framework for working methods and values prevailing in the workplace. Code of conduct bind all our employees, and everyone is expected to promote and follow our ethical guidelines.
“It is important for everyone to know what kind of behavior and actions are expected of us in the workplace. The guidelines define professional operating standards and what it means in our organization. Our guidelines cover compliance with laws, procurement and product safety, as well as personnel, human rights, and environmental practices.
“It is important that we all have a unified understanding of how we should behave in the workplace and what kind of boundary conditions are set by laws and regulations. That is why we have created the group’s code of conduct. I hope that the code of conduct will bring clarity to our employees and lower the threshold for bringing up misconducts in our operations,” says Turkka Hirvonen, CEO of the Terra Patris group.
The code of conduct include topics such as safe and healthy working conditions, equality and non-discrimination, respect for human rights, protection of personal data, combating corruption, preventing money laundering and terrorist financing, product safety and compliance, environment and climate, responsible procurement, competition legislation and protection of the company’s reputation.
